The Napa County Office of Education (NCOE) Community Programs department administers two AmeriCorps programs, AmeriCorps Volunteer Infrastructure Project (VIP) AmeriCorps Expanded Learning (EXL), serving across the state of California. Our mission is to provide AmeriCorps members an opportunity to support children, families, and the broader community. Recreation and Park Commission (BREC)
The Program Coordinator oversees the planning, development, implementation, coordination, promotion, and evaluation of recreation programs and facilities. This individual performs professional work primarily in the administration office. Recreation Supervisors also work at recreation centers, events, and other locations as necessary. Additional responsibilities include hiring, training and supervising staff; establishing and monitoring classes in various activities; completing paperwork and interacting with the general public. Recreation and Park Commission (BREC)
Program Coordinator of Youth Enrichment, develops, implements, and coordinates youth enrichment programs including but not limited to camps, after school programming, and teen programs for three- to seventeen-year-old youth; creates and maintains departmental reports; organizes staff training related to youth enrichment programs. This individual will work with the human resources department to create strategies to successfully recruit and retain youth enrichment staff for the entire recreation department; work with the communications department to effectively promote all youth enrichment programs; work with partner organizations to create new and diverse programs and interact frequently with the general public. Functions and Duties: • Hires, supervises, trains, and schedules staff/volunteers throughout the year. • Nurtures and encourages an atmosphere of diversity and kindness • Creates a year-long program/activities plan, Assists with community events and facility management, Assists other BREC departments in clarification and dissemination of information to staff and public and Assumes duties in absence of supervisor-of-record to respond to immediate concerns to ensure efficiency and prompt service to employees and public.
