Unique opportunity to live and work at YMCA Camp Burgess & Hayward, two brother/sister camps situated on 300 acres on beautiful Cape Cod, a five minute drive from the historic beaches. During the summer the Camps operate two traditional overnight camps, housing a total of 650 campers and staff. In the non-summer months Camp Burgess serves as an outdoor education and retreat center, providing team building programs to schools and universities. Our Food Services Director is retiring after 23 years, and we are looking for her replacement. The FSD is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the food operations for the two kitchens, including cooking, menu planning, ordering, inventory and supervision of 17 seasonal staff. The ideal candidate will have experience in an overnight camp or university setting, cooking for large groups. Must like working with and supervising young people, and recognize that the 10 week summer schedule is a busy one. We are looking to have the new person in place early in 2024.

The Kitchen Manager oversees a kitchen operation that serves Girl Scout campers, volunteers, families, and staff at summer camp (June & July), weekend camping (fall, winter, spring), and special events. This person serves as the primary food service leader who plans menus, orders food, prepares and serves meals, supervises staff, and manages the kitchen/dining environment, with the goal of providing nutritious, appealing, and appropriate food for up to 225 plates per meal.
