Overview:
Join us to get up to date on triaging crisis communications, identifying your spokesperson, and determining your audiences. Come and learn more about responding to media inquiries and how to determine if a situation will require professional help. We’ll share practical direction for camps on how to establish your crisis communications plan, how-to steps on what to do, and most importantly what not to do. We’ll also share best practice examples of communication with parents, staff, campers, and the communities we serve. Ultimately, you will gain new insight on managing social media crisis, threats, and trolls.

Kelley Freridge is a seasoned marketing professional with extensive experience in the outdoor industry, having held senior leadership positions at Eastern Mountain Sports, Patagonia, and Chaco. Previously serving as the chief marketing officer for the American Camp Association (ACA), she brings valuable brand-building expertise and insights into consumer trends. Kelley credits her childhood experiences at Van Buren Youth Camp as a guiding influence in her business decisions. A graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School, she also serves as a trustee for the Rockford Public Schools Board of Education. As a dedicated mother, Kelley actively engages in discussions about effective leadership both at camp and in the classroom.
