The Committee for the Advancement of Research
and Evaluation is the latest, greatest
iteration of the American Camp Association's
(ACA) research advisory committee. Our
new charge from CEO Peg Smith is to "advise
and support the research function of the
Association as it serves to develop and
enhance knowledge generation and dissemination
within ACA."
Chairperson, Christopher
Thurber, Ph.D., will be working with Dr.
Deb Bialeschki, Dr. Barry Garst, Dr. Karla
Henderson, Dr. Jeff Jacobs, and Dr. Jon
Malinowski, to design
studies, write grants, distribute results,
and otherwise advance ACA's systematic
program of research. This
is an exciting time to be part of CARE. New
name, new charge, new members, new momentum,
and unprecedented intellectual horsepower between volunteers and staff!
And now, I'd like you to meet your
CARE members:
