Mary Jane Meherg will lead this 6 hour training. The training is ideal for camp staff and educators.  Project WILD is one of the most widely-used conservation and environmental education program s.  Designed for K-12 youth, it is based on the premise that young people and adults have a vital interest in learning about our natural world. There will be no cost for this event and lunch will be provided.  Special thanks to Lynn Warburton and Krys Ragland at Florida Elks Youth Camp for providing lunch at this event!

Darkness to Light's Stewards of Children is a revolutionary evidence-based sexual abuse prevention training program that educates adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse, and motivates them to courageous action. The Stewards of Children program is designed for organizations that serve children and youth, and any/all adults interested in protecting children. This 3 hour training will provide camp administrators, directors, and staff with skills to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. There is no cost for this training, as all related costs have been funded through at grant from the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy.

Join the staff at Caraway Conference Center and Camp for a beneficial time of sharing and learning group facilitation ideas. Last year people from a number of camps came out to share their favorite team activity, and to glean ideas & adaptations from others! The Teambuilding Share and Swap is open to anyone who facilitates experiential activities like group initiatives, challenge and ropes courses, and games! Meet us at Camp Rockmont  in Black Mountain , NC for a networking and learning event with EPIC ( Emerging Professionals In Camping).  We will tailor the afternoon's agenda with topics that you would like to talk about.  A group of veteran camp directors from the area will be joinings us to help facilitate break out sessions for these topics.  That evening we will have a dinner and campfire.

Stay overnight for the New Director Orientation (NDO), or join us just for the EPIC retreat (see below for a description of the NDO).

COST: Fees include all meals and lodging as applicable.

A special 8 hour session for seasonal or new camp directors, assistant directors, program directors, or persons that have been in other administrative positions and are considering directing camp next summer. This is an overview of all the aspects of the director's job with the primary focus on the summer operation. It is an interactive training beginning with a board game covering the core areas and then going into sessions on risk management, camper behavior and staff training and supervision.
