The American
Camp Association, Rocky Mountain includes
camps located in Colorado and Wyoming.
A wide variety of camping experiences are
offered by member camps but all share the
spectacular beauty of the mountains and
plains of these two states.
Now Available:
Join us for all 3 days as we expand the program to include "Create Your Conference" with Tom & Jen Leahy on Wednesday!
This "OPEN SPACE" concept is an incredible meeting methodology that has been effective for 25+ years in a diversity of settings, cultures and countries. At a
traditional conference, a committee chooses the workshops 6-12 months in advance. In "OPEN SPACE"...YOU create the agenda and convene on
discussions that are relevant to YOU in the moment. LEARN MORE
Register online, download the schedule, and more! HERE
We are continuing to accept proposals for innovative, timely and dynamic educational sessions to be presented at the the conference. Sessions are seventy-five minutes in length. Presenters are encouraged to leave ten minutes or more for questions and answers with participants. Lectures, hands on workshops and panel presentations are welcome.
Submitting Session Proposals:
Proposals will be accepted until October 30, 2009. Submitters will receive notification of acceptance within one week from the time that their proposal is submitted. Click Here to submit proposals.

ACA National’s Web site has been updated to reflect the new CDC guidelines for day and resident camps about influenza-like illness (ILI) management. These guidelines, along with those issued by the Colorado or Wyoming Department of Health, form the basis of a camp’s preparedness plan to address ILI. Visit here to read these guidelines.

ACA National Conference Coming to Denver in 2010 [Details]
Most camps in the section offer activities
uniquely suited to their location-backpacking
through rugged wilderness, climbing 14,000
foot peaks, whitewater rafting, mountain
biking, rock climbing and riding horseback along trails once traveled by Native Americans,
trappers, and the West's early explorers.
Traditional activities are offered
as well including camping skills, sports,
crafts, archery, fishing, and outstanding
nature, geology and astronomy programs.
In addition to geography ideal
for camping adventures, Colorado and Wyoming
camps boast excellent weather for outdoor
activities of all types. Dry, sunny days
and cool star-filled nights are typical in
the summer. There are few mosquitoes and
other biting insects in these high altitude
climates.
Although there are camp programs which primarily
attract Colorado and Wyoming residents, many
camps in the Rocky Mountain section welcome
campers and staff from many states and countries
each summer. Whether you are looking for
a day camp, a 4 or 5 week mountain adventure
or a travel experience based in Colorado/Wyoming,
you will find a member camp to fit your need.
All of them adhere to the high standards
of the American Camping Association and will
provide a warm and memorable Western experience
for your child.
