Purpose:
Examination and synthesis of previous research
regarding the effects of an organized camp
experience on children's constructs of self.
Sample:
61 studies were initially investigated.
22 were included based on measurement of
self-construct and sufficiency of data.
Methods/Instruments:
"Interpretation of data was based on
point line plots, regression analysis, and
effect size sensitivity analysis."
Results:
"The random effect is positively related
to the individual camp's ability to operationalize
strategies that focus on enhancing self.
The effect is greater for younger campers
and a positive effect was found across all
ages studied."
