Celebrity
Campers Share the Importance of the Camp
Experience
Indianapolis, IN (June 2, 2009) – As
ten million of the nation’s children
prepare to head to summer camp, the American
Camp Association® (ACA) and six celebrity
camp alumni join forces to highlight the
benefits of camp. The Because
of Camp…™ print public
service announcement (PSA) campaign is
designed as a companion to the Because
of Camp…™ video PSA released
in early May.
The Because
of Camp…™ print PSA highlights
Emma Roberts, James Pickens Jr., Hill
Harper, Lisa Loeb, Justin, Chambers and
Blair Underwood sharing how their lives
were changed and positively affected
by camp.
Each year, camp provides children and
adults the opportunity to connect
with nature, to participate in human
powered activities, and to benefit
from personal and primary relationships.
Print PSA ads are available in three sizes – full
page, half page, and one-third page. High
resolution images are available for print
publications and Web sites. The ads are
available on the ACA Media page at http://www.acacamps.org/media_center/.
Because
of Camp…™ communicates
the essentials gained from the camp experience,
including developing lasting friendships,
gaining self-esteem, learning to work
as part of a team, and developing critical
life skills such as empathy and compassion.
Because of Camp...™ so
much is possible.
ACA encourages the sharing this vital
message with your audience. Please feel
free on link to Web sites or social networking
sites.
This PSA Campaign is made possible,
in part, by generous funding from the
Legacy Fund sponsored by the Association
of Independent Camps and the Lilly Endowment
Inc.
