tradition of providing programs to teach
skills in the outdoors, including environmental
stewardship and awareness.

and name change. Enter – Outdoor
Living Skills Program (OLS). |

a New Bearing, a comprehensive
guide for teaching and learning appropriate
outdoor skills published by Phyllis
M. Ford. |
| 2000: The OLS program
is updated. |
| August, 31, 2005:
ACA phases out the OLS program and incorporates
the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor
Ethics (The Center) programs for camp
staff, youth, and outdoor leaders needing
instructional training on outdoor programs. |
The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics
is a national nonprofit organization dedicated
to promoting and inspiring responsible outdoor
recreation through education, research,
and partnerships. The Leave No Trace program
builds awareness, appreciation, and respect
for wildlands. The Center has a variety
of program offerings and curricula to teach
and share the seven
