Opportunities to Volunteer

Here is your chance to volunteer to help. Whether you would like to work as a volunteer to help reduce your registration fee (reduced registrations are limited) or simply to make a contribution to your association, you can help make this an amazing event. For those volunteers making significant commitments (typically one half day volunteer/one half day registration in exchange, positions are available. Priority for the reduced registration positions is provided to members of the ACA, Rocky Mountain Local Chapter. Most volunteers simply like to be involved as both an attendee and a contributor in some way. The cross section and volume of volunteers enriches the event. A list of key areas with brief descriptions follows. Keep in mind the needs for the Conference remain fluid. We never turn good help away!

The Process
We seek volunteers who can commit ahead, and will welcome those who wait until they arrive on site. You may volunteer online at: www.acacamps.org/conference/volunteerform.php. Assignments will be confirmed back to you prior to the conference. On site, you may check opportunities in one of two locations – the Speaker/Session counter and the Hospitality Desk.

Hospitality
Hospitality and community building are hallmarks of the National Conference. There are opportunities both before the conference and during for hospitality volunteers. Assignments may include Airport Hospitality on Tuesday, February 16, during the heaviest arrival times, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., directing attendees in the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center, staffing the Hospitality Area, welcoming Kindred and Affiliate participants, and other tasks.

Registration
During heavy time blocks, and essentially all day Tuesday, two to three volunteers are needed to work registration, along side ACA staff. Volunteer hours are expected to be: Tuesday, from 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. and  Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Education Session Room Hosts
We have numerous slots to fill in this area.  This is an assignment for volunteers comfortable interacting with audiences and presenters.  As a host, you will help with handouts, evaluations, introductions and in some cases, will assist speakers in the question and answer period. This is a great volunteer option for those who wish to take advantage of education sessions. You can volunteer for the sessions you need, from an educational standpoint.

Keynote Session Assistance
Four keynote events are offered. Volunteers help usher, aide Conference Team members, chaperone entertainers, set out special event items, and perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks.
