Last year, at our conference in Nashville,
ACA registrants and exhibitors were asked
to step up to the plate and donate camp
T-Shirts to help local kids. Our challenge
was 1000 shirts for 1000 kids. Well, guess
what? We were able through the generosity
and participation of our community to donate
over 2000 T-Shirts to the Vanderbilt Children's
Hospital.
This year the Arnold
Palmer Children's Hospital in Orlando is thrilled to be chosen
as the target of our 2009 T-Shirt challenge.
The Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital
is dedicated to "Serving
the Unique Needs of Children". As part
of their commitment to the needs of "young" patients
the Hospital is guided by their Children's
Bill of Rights. At the Arnold Palmer Children's
Hospital kids can expect to have:
- Time to play each day.
- People to knock on my door before coming
in my room.
- Doctors and nurses to tell me their
names.
- People to understand that sometimes
I need to cry when I'm afraid or hurt.
- My parents to help take care of me.
- People to laugh with me.
- Safe, quiet times during each day.
- People to tell me what's going on and
why.
- My room and my bed to be safe places.
- People to let me choose what I want
when it's O.K.
- My favorite toy from home to be with
me and to go along to surgery and different
places in the hospital.
- A hug when I need one.
